The Mining Odds Calculator is a live tool that takes a hashrate and shows you the probabilistic odds of finding a Bitcoin block.

What it tells you

You enter:
  • A hashrate (e.g. 10 TH/s)
  • A unit (TH/s, PH/s, EH/s, etc.)
The calculator returns the odds of finding a block based on the current Bitcoin network difficulty and the live network hashrate. The numbers update as the network changes.

Why it matters

Mining is a probability game. Every share your ASIC submits is essentially a lottery ticket; the question is just how many tickets per second you’re buying and how many tickets total are in play across the whole network. The calculator answers questions like:
  • “If I run my Bitaxe Gamma (1.2 TH/s) for a year, what are my odds of finding a block?”
  • “If the whole pool runs at 100 PH/s during a Block Party, what’s the expected time between blocks?”
  • “What hashrate would I need to expect a block per month?”

Solo vs hybrid pool

The calculator is set up to show solo odds. With BasedMining’s hybrid model, your odds of being the finder are the same as solo — but you also accrue a proportional share of every block the pool finds while you’re contributing. So the calculator understates your real expected return when mining with us. Think of the calculator output as “your chance at the 1 BTC jackpot” — your steady remainder accrual is on top of that.

Sharing

The calculator generates an Open Graph image with your input — handy for sharing on Twitter or in chats. The shared link replays the same calculation. URL format:

Caveats

The odds are probabilistic. A 1-in-X chance over a year doesn’t mean you’ll hit at exactly year X — you could hit tomorrow, never, or anywhere in between. Bitcoin mining is high-variance.
The calculator uses live network difficulty and hashrate — both change. A number you see today won’t necessarily hold next month. Re-run the calculator when you want a fresh number.
